We Need MCTS Support to Meet 90% On-Time Performance Goal And Retain a Highly Motivated Workforce
The Milwaukee County Board has set a goal of 90% on-time performance. This goal is inseparable from the need to retain a highly motivated workforce. With support from MCTS management, this can happen.
Running Times Are Too Short
New technology that manages bus operations has reduced running times on every route. While efficiency is needed, the computers don’t recognize the job duties that increase the time needed to safely operate a bus. Some of the factors that should be calculated into running time are:

During contract negotiations, MCTS proposed working with Local 998 on the transit system’s long-term sustainability. We would welcome being part of a discussion that includes:
Together, we can create a system that runs on time, provides excellent customer service, and has minimal employee turnover. We can regain MCTS’ position as one of the nation’s best transit systems. Taxpayers and our customers deserve no less.
